SmartMountain Is a Tool You Need

Earth Analytic, the developer of SmartMountain, accelerated some of its development to enable the creation of waivers within SmartMountain. Additionally, it initiated conversations with POS developers to gain access to API solutions. However, SmartMountain realized that extracting data from a database that was not vetted via SmartMountain was a potential liability to the ski area and instead developed a process where a Ski Patrol Director or an AI investigator can extract the waiver data and bring it into the Incident Report instead of an automatic insertion of all the data relating to the patient. Thus eliminating the liability of having incorrect data.

Last month, I shared that SmartMountain had added a new feature of Workers’ Comp claim management, making it highly efficient and automated to the point of significantly reducing the administrative resources needed to manage these claims. The step into the Workers’ Comp report for SmartMountain contributed to the quick development process for handling waivers within SmartMountain, as well as the ability to utilize the automation process to access waivers via an API in third-party software.

Building on last month’s post regarding the Workers’ Comp feature, I believe it is beneficial for all, and especially for risk managers, to gain a deeper understanding of the process. Imagine having the following capability at your fingertips?

This dashboard is the result of a workflow process that is automated by the respective answers in a SmartMountain form, which the injured staff member completes upon reporting an incident via email or by scanning a QR code.

This process can utilize your existing forms and significantly reduce the administrative workload.  This is currently being used at a 500K skier visit ski area by one person, with OSHA filings kept up to date, and claim settlements being shortened by a meaningful percentage.

Utilization of the SmartMountain Workers’ Comp feature will save money by reducing administrative overhead and, most likely, saving Workers’ Comp premiums.

SmartMountain offers this module as part of the Risk and Incident package or as a standalone, separate module.

The good news doesn’t stop there. For me, this was an eye-opening experience. I knew that the Esri Survey 123 was a powerful tool for data management, but I wasn’t aware of the automation capability that can be so useful at a ski area.

With SmartMountain’s assistance, you can learn how to build your forms in Survey 123 for things you are now tracking via spreadsheet or information you're not tracking, but you know you should. Couple this with the data management capabilities that Survey 123 provides, and you will have better data to support more informed decision-making.
